My free time is often filled with the goings on of my two boys, Raichle and Ramsey. They are simply two balls of energy and I do my best to keep up but mostly I am lucky to capture but split seconds of them one frame at a time. My two favorite subjects to photograph always want to "see" what I've just taken and really, isn't that what we all want?
We want confirmation that our moment has been preserved because when we look back on it later we enjoy getting lost in the moment all over again.
That's why we make photographs in the first place, right? We find something that inspires us, we find beautiful, or frequently, with people in our lives, we know a moment is fleeting. The kids grow so quickly and seem to change daily. We fear that our elders might not always be there to tell family stories or provide us with advice. Maybe you find that YOU have become the elder and want to leave a lasting image.
Photographs still remain a treasured heirloom people enjoy sharing with others. Why? Because photographs endure and they help our memories to endure.
